Find the fruit in my garden

Number of players: 3
Category: pencil and papers game
Time: 10-20 minutes

General idea:
This is a variation on the classic naval battle game. Players have hidden fruits in their garden, and try to find the fruit hidden in their friends gardens.

Preparation:
Every player draws 3 7x7 grids. Grid papers is handy but not required. Along the sides, label the columns A-G and the rows 1-7. As an alternative, print the sheet 3 times, and give each player one sheet.
Each player fills his garden with one banana, 2 pears, and 3 apples, in such a way that no two fruits are adjacent horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
Example:

Play:
Players take turns, play proceeds clockwise.
In his turn, a player calls out a coordinate, for example "D2".
Both players indicate wether some fruit is hidden in that location. They report "Yes" or "no". They do NOT report the type of fruit.

Game end:
The game ends as soon as all fruits of one player have been discovered. The winner is the player who uncovered the last bit of fruit.
